Outline planning permission for an IKEA store on land south of the A379 in Exeter has been granted by Exeter City Councils January planning committee, along with proposals for up to 220 new homes. The 28,000m2 store will generate around 380 new jobs for the City, whilst the residential scheme will provide a range of new homes, green space and landscape habitats.
FPCR were appointed by IKEA to provide landscape design services for the development’s masterplan. This included preparing outline landscape proposals for the scheme through a Landscape Masterplan, together with the production of a Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA). The LVIA included an analysis of the effects on landscape character and visual resources and included a series of photomontages of the development from key locations in the Devon landscape.
